"ON THE ROAD AGAIN ..."

Part 1 of the quest is over and we leave the Castelli Romani.. 

On this map the Castelli are just south of Rome We are on our way to stage 2, Viareggio/Lucca on top of the map.

On our way we discover the city of  TARQUINA - on the map a bit to the north of Rome - which was a big Etruscan city in the centuries BC.

EN CHEMIN, découverte de la ville de Tarquinia, centre étrusque il y a quelque temps (tout étant relatif, on parle ici de plus de 2500 ans).


Etruria 750 BC in green and lighter green shows their influence area.




We spend the night in Castiglione de la Pescaia,  nice little town with big medieval castle. On the map is is a bit to the left of Grosseto.

Promenade très agréable pour rejoindre la plage (photo techniquement pas trop réussie mais j'utilise un petit appareil compact qui vieillit).

Amusons-nous un peu

 Several gas stations do not accept foreign cards (no carte estere). Here there was no warning so someone added a handwritten note on which several tourists added their country.  Second picture : after we left - note the difference.

APRES notre passage - cette machine (comme beaucoup d'autres dans les stations services) n'accepte pas les cartes étrangères
