En route vers le nord-est - towards Oudtshoorn.

From Cape Agulhas, we go north over Bredadorp to SWELLENDAM where we spend the night. This is the 3rd oldest city of South Africa, after Cape Town and Stellenbosch (including Franschhoek), established in 1746. The church is, according to the tourist flyer, the most photographed of South Africa.

From there, we continue north-eastwards, take the Tradouw mountain pass to Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp the capital of the South African port wine, to reach OUDTSHOORN, the ostrich capital. This region is called the Klein Karoo, just south of the Swartberg mountains.

Nous continuons notre periple. Nous quittons le Cap Agulhas pour remonter vers le nord-est. Nous logeons a Swellendam, la 3e plus ancienne ville d'Afrique du Sud. On visite le musee qui me fait penser a Bokrijk (musee en plein air en Belgique). Ensuite, continuation vers Oudtshoorn, la capitale de l'AUTRUCHE.

The township of Barrydale, on the other side of the hill.
	Solar power  was installed on most of the houses of the township when built in the Apartheid era, and it still works. It is pretty hot here so it makes a lot of sense.  Ce township a ete construit, comme tous les autres, pendant l'Apatheid. Deja a l'epoque, ces petites maisons ont ete equipees de panneaux solaires car il faut dire qu'ici, il fait CHAUD et c'est tres utile et logique d'utiliser cette chaleur.
